Bilbao and San Sebastian - February 2015
Always keen to keep it fresh, four of our most trusted (and waterproof) scouts have just returned from a talent-spotting mission to the pintxo heartlands of northern Spain’s Atlantic coast and Basque country.
It began with an inspiring visit to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. As well as the amazing collection of artworks inside, the building itself is a globally recognised icon of contemporary design. More importantly on this occasion; it provided a warm and dry respite from the bloody awful weather!
For purely professional reasons, we spent a lot of time researching the many, many, many pintxo bars of San Sebastian, and (not to justify putting the whole thing on expenses, honest) rounded-off the tour with a visit to the Taron family vineyard in Rioja.
Taron have been producing wines for over a century and we’ll soon be featuring their award-winning range at Pix. So there you go. Business and pleasure in perfect harmony. Mission accomplished.
